...In my defence, I was spending 'birthday money' and vouchers (yes, yes, I am in my middle thirties, I but I still get shopping money for my birthday). In my eyes, gifted money is there to spend on something nice, and my usual rules about saving up for the sales go out of the window, and straight up to Oxford St H&M, for that was where my vouchers could be spent...
H&M sheer blouse: £19.99 |
Badass looking hummingbird |
Yes, yes, the sensible part of my brain says it's just a shiny new cross between New Look and H&M. The sensible part of my brain says the 'small, medium, large' sizing system is annoying. The sensible part of my brain looks at the seams and does a Marge Simpson hmmmm.
The other part of my brain made me buy these:
Inappropriately short but pretty dress: £19 |
How 60s-kitsch? £8.40 |
They look like sugar flowers! |
I also bought a heart necklace which my friend described as "the most you thing ever". Had to be done.
Pink AND diamante AND hearts AND bows. £4.90 |
Anyway, I am currently paying for my day of decadence with a stonking hangover.
Oh, and one last thing... I'm off on holiday (to Wells, Somerset) next week. I am too useless to schedule posts, so expect a few short snap-and-a-sentence posts on what we're up to. Or simply draw a stick woman clutching a cheese sandwich and a pint of cider on a post it note and affix it to your internet device; the effect will be much the same. Laters, as the youngsters say...
I bow to your fabulous shopping finds, I'm useless in a real shop! I thought that hummingbird was a tattoo, isn't it so pretty? Eighties in a good way! Love that frock, too. It will look amazing with your stunning red hair and groovy opaques!! xxx
ReplyDeleteAh there's nothing wrong with buying some new too! I like to mix and match both new, charity, car booty and vintage in my wardrobe :) Forever 21 is great for bargains..I make a beeline for it whenever i'm in London! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the colours and adore the Hummingbird print. I enjoy mixing the old with the new, in particular the range of prints you can get these days and the classics to match with the vintage.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that jewellery is very nice! And if you can't treat yourself on your birthday, when can you?
ReplyDeleteOh I like new things too and like to mix vintage with new.
ReplyDeletein love with green rose kitsch necklace.
That green dress is divine as the hummingbirds blouse so pretty.
besos
Buy what you like and can afford no matter! I am a fan of H&M and Forever 21 for certain things and I love everything you got!

Ah, very nice buys. I think that frock is very pretty, I can't wait to see how you wear it.
ReplyDeleteI seriously covet both those necklaces. I agree that birthday money is different, I try to stick to sales shopping only but I got a New Look giftcard for my birthday and just ran rampage round the shop!
ReplyDeleteAll bets are off with birthday money! Love that green dress, bet it looks gorgeous on.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the flower necklace! Think I'll be making a trip to Forever 21 this weekend x
ReplyDeleteI do the same, I feel some how cheated if I dont get some sort of discount! Have a fab time x
ReplyDeletep.s is it selfish for me to want you to wear the green frock with white opaques!!
