A Monsoon Wedding

"Hold it! Flash, bang, wallop, what a picture,
Click, what a picture, what a photograph.
Poor old Eve, there with nothing on.
Face all red and her fig leaf gone."

I checked my inbox this morning and discovered a very special wedding feature on one of my favourite wedding blogs Whimsical Wonderland Weddings. Why so special? Well put it this way... Perdita isn't my real name. I like craft, I'm frugal-but-(hopefully)-stylish and I got married last year.

Please have a look (click here for the feature) - WWW is a fab site for anyone planning a wedding, I subscribed so several more (Love My Dress- classy/vintage, Boho Bride- Boho and Rock My Wedding- all sorts with a bit of pzazz) so if you are planning a wedding or simply love a bit of the old romance, they're worth a look.

And check out my tactical skill, surrounding myself with fellow hobbits in photos so posterity may imagine I was of average height...

  1. I am not a bride to be. Apparently you have to be asked to wed (grumble grumble) BUT i DO love to look at frocks!!!!

  2. Monsson Wedding, only one of my most favourite films of all time.
I've never understood the wedding thing, my friends think I'm a secret bloke. I have got my Great Grandmother's wedding dress and a 1960's Priscilla Presley car boot number which I wear around the house to scare Jon. xxx

  3. @Landgirl- it took his Lordship about 11 years! Finally, after a couple who were notorious for being long-time-but-never-engaged actually tied the knot, he realised we'd been together for many a year! ;)

@VV I used to be a bit of a 'secret bloke' (I am still about a lot of things) but weddings seem to combine my love of clothes, parties, friends and family together. mad for them. But I can't tell you all the makes of every dress/accessory, nor all the names of flowers ('those cream ones...no, the ones that grow on a bush and look like bunches of different flowers...- that was my florist talk. Hydrangias I *think* they are called). Still have some slight blokiness.

  5. Congratulations!
I also got married last year, and after months of scouring charity shops for china tea sets and lace tablecloths (we had afternoon tea for our reception), making all the decor including hand sewing 50 metres of bunting (I also arrranged all the flowers, made and decorated the cakes! Phew!!!). Exhausted but very happy!
I still go ooohhhh! when looking at fabulous dresses, I'm such a girl!!!
